I will post any corresopondance that I recieve on this page, so if you want to get your thoughts on the web get typing! This transmission was sent to me recently by Gary Teed, Thanks Gary. I feel your loss too. My grandfather owned 300 or so acres up on Johnny Brook. My family lived just above the farm. I still remember the town even though I was very young when it was flooded. The thing that bothers me the most is the fact that NYC will not allow any hiking on the brook or any of the land around the reservoir. We do sneak in once in a while to see the land of my roots. My last trip was a couple of years ago. My grandad lived there since the very early 1900's. I would like to be able to walk in without fear of being nailed by the "fish police". Did you know that the old town grounds are once again high and dry? I been going to the area every couple of weeks or so to get photos with the digital camera. I probably wont see it this low again for the rest of my life. I was there today and noticed that it is starting to rise again. Cannonsville will soon be under water again. For some reason that I could not find, they released water to the river at a very high rate. And I saw what looked like well drilling rigs on the dam itself. If you would like some photos, let me know and I will send some. I have lots of photos. Old ones too. I liked your site. Everyone should know what NYC did to not only Cannonsville, but to many other communities. They were even more heartless to people in other communities lost to other reservoirs. Later, Gary Teed
